Gwen Stefani is able to carry the proper temperature to season 22 of “The Voice!” ET can announce completely that the performer will likely be joined by Sean Paul as her movie star advisor on the upcoming season of the NBC singing competitors.
The pair not too long ago teamed up on “Gentle My Fireplace” – off of Paul’s newest album, Scorcha, which dropped in Could – and Stefani stated that whereas that was their first official collaboration, their “souls knew one another” for a very long time earlier than they labored collectively.
“[I’ve] positively felt her vibes, her voice and all of that from No Doubt days right through ‘Bananas’ days… straight to date,” Paul agreed. “She’s superior… when she stated sure, I did a bit of dance.”
Stefani was equally thrilled to crew up with the reggae legend, noting her connection to Jamaican music predates even No Doubt’s dancehall-inspired 2001 album, Rock Regular.
“I grew up loving ska music, which was, on the time, like, tremendous underground,” she famous. “[There were] a lot of English teams like Insanity, The Specials, and The Selecter, which led me into reggae music… After which, it’s simply loopy to assume that each one these years later, I’m standing with a legend.”
Stefani and Paul be part of a star-studded record of coach-advisor duos in season 22, as Blake Shelton chosen nation sensation Jimmie Allen to hitch his crew for the Battle Rounds, John Legend may have GRAMMY winner Jazmine Sullivan to assist information his crew members and new coach Camila Cabello choosing pal Charlie Puth to assist as her crew’s advisor.
Stefani informed ET she’s greater than thrilled to have the Kingston-born hitmaker on her crew as she returns to “The Voice” this fall to compete in opposition to husband shelton for the primary time since they tied the knot and for the primary time since Stefani received her first “Voice” victory with Carter Rubin in season 19.

ET spoke with former “Voice” coaches Nick Jonas and Shakira at NBC Upfronts again in Could, the place they have been selling their upcoming competitors collection, “Dancing With Myself”. “I might say to her, watch out with Blake Shelton,” Shakira teased with fun.
